He Did It

We have been trying to help Mr. M ride with out training wheels for awhile.  He is a very cautious child.  He struggled to ride his bike even with the t. wheels because he was terrified to crash.  We bought a balance bike, he rode it for an hour, hopped on his bike and took off!  No more running behind him holding on while my back screams at me.  He is so proud of himself and spends hours riding now!

New Chalk, New Bike

Please don't tell me this foretells his future!  Haha.
Miss L got a new bike.  She must have really needed a larger bike because she took off on this thing and hasn't stopped.  She can go far too.  She surprised me by going on a couple mile bike ride with me and she wanted to keep going.  I think she's ready to take off the training wheels, but she isn't convinced.  We'll worry about it later.  When this girl decides she will do something, she always does it.

Mr. M was dang proud of this drawing.   I promised I would post it.  I do love his creativity.  He wrote a story last week that was amazing.  It rhymed it had rhythm to it, it was really good!  I will not be surprised at all if this child becomes an author/artist.
All three of them are so creative.  I have always allowed them almost free reign of our art supplies and nature.  They turn our trash in treasures (too many treasures. haha.) and everything they see becomes an outlet for art.  It can be frustrating because of messiness but I'm proud of them and their abilities.
Her mermaid made her very happy.  It's been so humid lately our chalk is now mush, but it was fun while it lasted!

Baby on the Way! And Lib's Concoctions.

Miss L is so excited to welcome baby #4 into our family.  Well, we are all excited but she's going crazy.  She's obsessed with my tummy, which is not growing since we are only 8.5 weeks along.  She wants to watch videos about babies on the computer.

AND she thinks I need fed every minute of every day. "The baby" needs to eat!
I've very thankful out house if full of healthy food, I hate to refuse her.
Plate #1
Strawberries, tomatoes, and grapes.
Ten minutes later...a plate of romaine with grapes and tomatoes.  I helped her put a little vinegar and oil on it.
And ten minutes after that....THIS.

I about gagged but I couldn't disappoint.
It actually wasn't horrible.  Would I like to eat it again?  No.  But it was horrible.
Bananas, tomatoes squeezed on, romaine, and strawberries.

Today's salad was spinach and romaine, a bunch of fruit, oranges squeezed on top.  I stopped her before she squirted on some lite whip cream.

She cracks me up!  I'm thinking she's going to be a big help.

Easter in Two Photos!

So unlike me to only have two photos!  I'm in shock too.  I did get one video also.

I LOVED Easter egg hunts as a kid.  I would make my brothers re-hide the eggs over and over.  Back in Midland we had some friends that put money in their eggs.  I totally had to steal that idea. Good thing pennies are like gold around here.
A little Easter Memory for me:
In sacrament meeting Cabe was helping with passing the sacrament.  I was on the stand to sing with the choir.  The kiddos were sitting all alone in their pew.  They are so much better behaved when I am absent, it's unbelievable.  However, I watched Lil' Guy's face from my hidden spot.  He searched and searched for us (apparently dad did not mention to them he'd be gone).  Then his cute little face started to scrunch up like he was going to loose it.  He started rubbing his eyes.  Then he spotted me.  I thought the fountain would flow over at that point, but it did not.  He just kept looking at me frantically and rubbing his eyes.  He wasn't crying, but was clearly distraught...but they were being so good. I fought the urge to run down there and snuggle him up.  Eventually I gave in though. It was great at first but later I wished I hadn't because when it came time for me to head up to sing (dad was sitting with us at that point) he lost it and once again Dad did not get to hear our choir number as he hauled out the bawling munchkin.  And the rest of sacrament meeting was kind of a mess.  That kid has an attachment problem for sure. That cute face though!  He's so hard not to spoil!

Chicot State Park

We had big plans for this spring break, but everything fell through.  So, we really didn't do much but let the kids be kids and have a nice, relaxing week.  We did hit one state park though.  Mr. M loved it, but the others were kind of whiney.  Then Mr. M threw up.  That was lovely.  At least is wasn't in the car this time.

The kids spotted a "cacoon."  We didn't have the heart to tell them it was just seeds.  They were so happy.
L and nature = love

I'm a sucker for daddy/baby cuddling pictures.  So sweet.
At one point the littles were whining so we just laid down on the boardwalk and looked at the leaves.  It was peaceful and beautiful.

It's so beautiful here.  I love the swampland.  I never thought I'd live anywhere near land like this.  Life takes interesting and wonderful turns.
Pretty colors!
This mushroom was huge and still not the biggest one we've seen.
I love discovering the world!  It's even more fun watching my kids discover their world.
